These slides describe the basic potential of 360 degree video to education, and outline a project that I collaborated on with a faculty member to apply 360 video to observational weather activities in an online meteorology course. We determined that the advantages to students were mixed, but that the inclusion of 360 video in addition to traditionally framed video aided a significant number of students. We presented on our findings at the American Meteorological Society’s annual symposium on education in January 2019.
